Police Abbreviations

Police is the state body the main responsibility of which is to secure public order. Police is supposed to fulfill several principal tasks. They are: to assure the citizens' safety as well as their rights and freedoms; to prevent, reveal and solve crimes and violations of law; to control the safety of traffic participants, etc. As policemen must cope with their tasks and duties effectively, they are vested with great authority. Their work usually takes place in public and often deals with interference into other people's private matters. That's why their actions should always be impartial, justified and within the law. As police is intended to prevent and solve crimes, it has an appropriate structure to maintain its functions. There are workers of preventive police and detectives. The former should respond to different incidents, patrol the streets and roads. The latter must investigate crimes. To prevent crimes police has to respond to emergencies and arrive to the scene of the accident very quickly. There exists a range of abbreviations concerning the work of a policeman. Out of office policemen use radios for communication. To transmit the information effectively special communication codes were written which substitute the frequently used messages.
